UNROUTE 4 – FAQ’S!

Welcome to the next event in the Surrey Fitness Camps Unroute series, Unroute Race 4 ‘Enduro’. A brand new race format!!!!
This is the big September social you’ve all been waiting for, the ultimate party of any true Surrey Fitness Camps enthusiast.  It’s basically one big party with a bit of running, a bit of competition, a DJ, food and drink, your bootcamp mates and Instructors.  What more could you possibly want?!

Entries will open on Friday 11th July at 8pm. But ahead of this we though some FAQs would help to give you all little insIght to this new Unroute race!

When is it?
Saturday 20th September from 5pm.


Where is it being held?
Guildfordians Rugby Club, Stoke Park! This is the home of SFC Guildford and where we held race 2. This is a central location for all with toilets,,,a very important factor!

 

WTF, ‘Enduro’, I’m not a strong runner!
Chillax! This race is for everyone – ALL running abilities and levels be it a speed merchant or a plodder. It’s more a big SFC social with a bit of running chucked in, we promise!
 
I can’t run for four hours, I’ll die….
Nah, you won’t be running continuously, christ alive, we’re not suggesting that! You can run as much or as little as you want, you will be in teams and not all running at the same time (unless yo want to). Read on!
 
 
So what’s the format, how far will I be running?
We don’t want to reveal too much BUT you will be in teams of six. The aim is to do as any checkpoints in four hours, You can run n pairs, groups of 3 or 4 or even all of you at the same time occasionally. You will run part of the course/Unroute returning to the start line to tag the next pair/group of runners in your team who will then head off. You will run (at a guess) 20-25 minutes max each time (if you don’t get lost!). You can run as often or as little as you wish, any 2+ members of your team must be on the course at a time.
 
 
What do the members of the team do when one pair/group is running?
Rest up, drink beer/gin, plan your (un)route for your next run!
 
 
The ‘After party’ bit sounds more like my thing…
We will celebrate the end of the Enduro edition with a DJ, lots of booze, pizza, drunken fun and games etc!
 
 

Do I need to find a team?
Either sort a team of six yourself or we will place you in a suitable team! On signing up tick ‘put me in a suitable team’ or ‘I’ll sort my own team out’.

 

Will there be prizes?
Absolutely! There will be prizes for the team who do the most checkpoints (damn, we’re giving away too much intel!) and spot prizes to teams for embracing the event, or for getting horrendously lost!
 
 

Can non-member sign up?
No, sorry! Our incredible ‘UnRoute running events’ are for members only and they are completely free of charge!

 

How many places are available?
For this race there are only 96 places up for grabs! (16 teams of 6). Sign up straight away when booking opens or you’ll miss out!
 
 
Can I run with my dog?
Unfortunately this race is not suitable for dogs.
 
 

Can spectators, friends and family come?
Absolutely! The ore the merrier! The start/finish line will have tonnes of beers, gins and food too!

 

When can I sign up?
Friday 11th July at 8pm! Don’t miss out!
